Everquest 2: Spirit's Resonance

Spirit's Resonance was one of the latest zones i made from Sentinel's Fate. It's yet another zone in the Hole, level 88+. Name encounters are 5, some of which were a bit hard on my poor SK.

Group setup was me, Illusionist, Templar, Guardian, Wizard and a 6th member which class i can't remember now...
As soon as we started we got to first encounter, The Possessing Spirit of Kyrenna. Before fighting named there are two Minotaurs that are need to be killed. Those Minotaurs will die once and ressurect as an enraged version which also memwipe. After they are down, The Possessing Spirit of Kyrenna will be up for fighting, not much hard afterwards, adds are worse.

Next encounter was Al'tuur the Handyman. Nothing much except mob will heal if not DPS'd down fast enough when he's under 25%. So save your cooldowns until then.

Researcher Jal'Dea's Restless Spirit came next. I turned off some portals around it, not sure if they were worth for something. We just tank spank, wasn't an hard fight...

Next came Tyrid Pyreflame, this one was the hardest on the zone. Each 25% the named the name will get full health and switch form, so at 75% it will switch form and get to 100%. It will happen next on 50% and finally on 25%. On last transformation, it will also spawn lots of adds, which must be either tanked, mezzed or killed. Since we had an Guardian, we opted to get adds, tanked by guardian and killed. Hard boss.

Finally Nortlav the Scalekeeper. I found this fight funny. After we engaged the named, a few seconds into the fight, one group member will become disembodied, and Nortlav will take on the appearance of that player.While the rest of the group continues to fight with Nortlav, the affected player, who is now in spirit form, must go to the back of the room and kill 3 waves of books that spawn on the book shelves in the center of the room. If the books are not killed or any reach the rest of the group, they will summon a set of larger books on the rest of the party that have tons of hitpoints, and plenty of damage to boot, which will be very difficult to survive. It can happen to anyone on group apparently. Once we even got healer on that job. Dunno if it happens to tanks also. I found hilarious cause the player who would got disembodied, would start spamming some random quotes some of which were really funny. I even thought that one group member was asking to make a run to Blackburrow. :P

Was a nice zone overall. Nice named fights, not much annoying trash, and good loot.

My new myth spells

It already been a week since i finally finished the Epic Reprecurssions questline that would give me access to the new class spells, extracted from the previous Mythical weapon (players with Epic weapon will also get these spells, depending on class of course).

After doing some zones, some of them harder, like Vistigial Cella, i managed to finish it, and got this final result...

Besides the spell(s), players will get an Enervated version of the weapon and 2 house items. Although it's a nice quest, i think the quests at level 80 for either Epic and Myth weapon, were more fun, since it was different to each class. I hope they do something like that again in the future, in my opinion it was one of my favourite thing ingame.

Everquest 2: The Vigilant Dungeons

The Sentinel was an airship originally built by the Erudin Erudites and used to haul large amounts of cargo overland. When the Void intruded into Odus, it was abandoned. The Paineel Erudites claimed the airship and re-worked it for their own purposes. It then became known as The Vigilant, as it watched over and protected the city. All three of The Vigilant instances are geared for adventurers level 90+. There are three group instances: The Vigilant: Incursion; The Vigilant: Infiltration; and The Vigilant: Rescue.

The Vigilant: Infiltration
Last monday evening, we've setup a group to this zone. Me, an Wizard, Swashy(awesome Swashy), Brigand, Illusionist and Warden. This zone is even more hard than Vistigial Cella, mostly because my tank is still undergeared for the zone, and in some passages there was some nasty trash packs. There are, i believe 5 names.

First off, Znag the Obrut:
It's an level 93 (3 arrow heroic) beholder. It's an tank and spank fight, easy enough. Just make sure you use a switch that will block a ton of adds from coming assist the named.

Second named, which name i don't recall, is located at a room full of beast adds. Clean it, make sure you don't pull the named, before cleaning, or you pull the full room. Tank spank fight.

Next we have Arch-Amahn Wretchedcorpse. On this fight i didn't do much at all except tanking it, but i noticed the named would port to some areas, and also some adds (zombies) would spawn. The illusionist apparently mezzed them, while we nuked the named.

Forth named is Kage-Zonn Radas, with two adds, Tallonite Battle-Mauler and Tallonite Battle-Mage. The damage from this guy is insane. My health was a constant fight for the healer, considering every 3 seconds, i was around 5-10% health. Before killing the named, you will need to kill the adds. The thing is, Tallonite Battle-Mauler can only be killed by melee, and Tallonite Battle-Mage (by mages). I'm not sure it's this way, or the other way around but just check it. While the adds are up the named will be stone skin. Just burn them and next the named. Was the hardest fight in the zone.

Finally, Vigith Rodnan... Well can't say much, seemed easy. Took some nice damage but that's about it. Tank spank, and got loot.

The zone wasn't hard by the named fight themselves, but mostly because there were some trash encounters, that were badly positioned to be engaged. Overall a nice zone.

Eve, after the first month

My first month subscription of Eve Online just got used up. After the first month i had some fun doing missions, either alone or with corporation members (it's fun to do level 4 missions, and get tons of isk from bounties) and some other minor things. I still managed to get killed by some player even hehehe. But overall it was a nice experience.

The down side is, when i loose a ship it's a pain to get everything as it was before, because i need to run around all systems trying to get what i need again. Another thing is, it will probably get boring doing only missions because most of them just repeat themselves after a while.

I might consider resub again soon. But for now i think i'm gonna try some Fallen Earth!

Everquest 2: Vasty Deep - Vestigial Cella

This last friday, i've setup a group to one more zone available with Sentinel's Fate expansion, Vestigial Cella. Until now this is the most challenging zone i've made, and my group wouldn't probably succed it wasn't for the fact that one of the members knew the challenges and what to do.

The group setup was, me (SK), Warden, Inquisitor, Wizard, Swashie and Troubador (which switched for Coercer on the last 2 fights).

There are 6 names on the zone, and it's a fairly small zone, map size. Not much trash, but still some to clean before each named.
First named, Wight Specter. Before doing it clear all wisps around him, or they will add the named when you fight it. Easy tank and spank fight, nothing much here.
Second, Ecto Malgum. Again, clean all the wisps and adds around named, unless you want company. Tank it at the alcove, by the bones. Tank spank, easy fight.
Next we have Chrystasha. It's a big spider, which will come after you kill a ton of small spiders, in the room (sort of a ring event). Yet another easy fight, only thing to know is that named as knockback.
The next named, wil be slightly harder then the previous three. It's an encounter composed of 3 names, linked. They are Judithaina, Kraitenae and Lilithania. Mostly it's a tank spank fight, but you need to make sure they all die almost at the same time, cause apparently (can't confirm it cause we made it as supposed to), after you kill one they will hit harder. Also they have small knockback. We killed them at the same room as the 3rd named.

Now the last 2 names were way much harder.
Secratiata, is the next fight, and like the one before, it's a linked group with some named snakes or something (can't remember). The challenge here lies in 1) group hits hard, 2) at 10% Secratiata, will stone skin, so you have to kill adds and 3) when you kill one of the adds, it will spawn tons of adds, making the fight even harder. The idea is to, again make sure that the adds die around the same time, and when the last add dies, Secratiata will loose the stone skin, and you can burn her to 0. It was at this point that our Trouby switched to his Coercer, which made all the difference.

The final name, Queen Gwarthlea, herself is easy. The adds she spawns on the other hand, are a "nightmare" if you don't have a good chanter (i don't agree that much to have zones that can only be done with a specific setup, but then again, if you want challenges, i guess that's the way). Queen stands in her throne, and in front of her there is a small stair which leads to a pool. Have your group standing inside the pool. Queen herself is rooted, and will sometimes move a little. By the end of the fight she will be inside the pool. When Queen reaches near 90% a dragon will appear and buff up the group with a ton of health and some other buffs (i was with 130k health hehe) Note - If you die, when someone resses you will come without this buff, but i don't know if dragon casts it on you again. At 90%, 60%, 30% and 10% Queen will stone skin and 5 names will come around pool and attack the group. If your chanter is good, he will quickly mezz these adds, and you will kill one by one (make sure group targets thru you). By the way, no AoE :), unless you want to wipe. These adds hit like trucks and if not properly mezzed, they can easilly kill the group. So just repeat the process at 60%, 30% and 10%, and if you have an inquisitor as me with Inquisition, you can always skip the last 10% :P

After this zone, i finally finished my Epic Reprecurssion quest and got my 2 new mythical spells (i will post it later).

It's a very nice zone, challenging enough, can be a group killer if not properly setup and played, but with good players it can be a breeze.

Everquest 2: Marks of Manaar

Marks of Manaar are the new currency now available from The Sentinel's Fate. Much like Void Shard from The Shadow Odyssey, these new tokens alow players to trade an certain ammount of those by a specific gear piece.

To get these tokens, there are several ways of doing it. Most common way of getting Marks, is by doing any dungeon at level 90. All these dungeons will now give at least one Mark per run. Old TSO zones have been revamped to level 90, so they now give a Mark at the last named chest. New SF zones will give 2, one from chest (locked, need to get key for it), and from final named drop. Old TSO zones will continue to give Shards from locked chest. Also each zone will have a daily mission, SF dungeons give a Mark as reward, TSO zones will give a Shard.
Another way, is by doing some daily quests. There are, for my knowledge, 2 daily quests that give Marks. One is in Paineel, solo quest. Another one, some players can solo, others don't, it's done inside The Hole. I personally usually get an healer to help out.
Besides these, i know there are some random quests that gives away some Marks, but i don't think it's something very significant.
The gear available from these tokens are available on 6 npcs, 3 on Paineel and 3 on Moonfield Hamlet. Paineel npcs will sell level 85 gear and yellow adornments, while Moonfield Hamlet will sell level 90 gear and some appearance gear too.
I hope in the future some new options for those tokens will be available because so far i find them a bit to limited.
Happy gaming! :)

Everquest 2: Demitrik's Bastion

Another run on some new zone from Sentinel's Frontier expansion.

Last night we setup a group, to go to Demitrik's Bastion, a level 85-90 zone (although i would sugest having some players at 90). First thing i noticed, is that the layout of this zone, is exactly the same as the layout of the roekillik (the rats) inside The Hole zone. So if you are familiar with that zone, you will know a bit of it. There are some differences but with some searching it's easy to get the hang of it.

The zone is composed roekillik, golems, flying ozes, flying ghosts and 5 names encounter. My group setup was a SK (me), Warden, Illusionist, Wizard, Conjuror and Swashie.

First name encounter - Shirinu, Tirini and Protector Ghondu
Before doing it, be sure to clean all the flying ghosts (Phantom watchers) around the named (which is non-aggro to the group). After that you can engage the name. It consists of a group of 3 mobs, 2 of which (Shirinu and Tirini) are stone skin while the group kills Protector Ghondu. After Protector is done, burn as fast as you can each of the other two names, before they summon back Protector Ghondu. If you have enough DPS you can do it in one cycle, but if not, just make sure you kill at least one of the other two, and then kill Protector Ghondu again, and get the last named after. Get loot :)

Next name encounter - Schteek Tavinos
It's a cool flying horsie with a rider, also non-aggro.
This named, is harder then the one before. There are some things to be aware of. When he say "Back off!" (about every 15 seconds) he does a high-damage 360° knockback.
When he says "Feel the touch of plagues!" he casts a powerful curse. All the players standing in front of or below him will experience a 3-level reduction and a 50% melee hit malus, so it's important that you make sure that only the tank is the one taking this curse.
Casters and healers should stand ranged of it, with a wall to the back.
Kill it, get loot :)

After this encounter, we went for Coercer Pittles and Shroombis the Coerced
Another double encounter. Again Coercer Pittles will be stone skin while we kill Shroombis the Coerced. The name just gives away the main ability of Pittles, so when the Shroom dies, Pittles will emote "Pittles the Coercer protects herself from harm while looking for another pet." For a few seconds, she is immune to damage. When she finishes casting, she charms a group member (usually the tank). Just cure the curse, and burn it down. She can do it multiple times, depending on DPS. Open the chest :)

The second funniest encounter on this zone is Nayt the Grate Keeper
It's a big golem, which is rotted down on the end of a trench. From my experience, this one hits hard on melee :p But is harmless to range. So if your group is mostly range you can kill it easilly on range. But it's not a burn fight. Every 10% he will emote something like "Nayt the Grate Keeper laughs". A few seconds later a boulder will fall down the trench, killing everyone who stands around it (well i think if you have enough health you might survive it, i did :p). So when that happens, just run out of the trench. If you manage to do that, the boulder will actually hit the name itself doing some damage (3% i think). When the named reaches 10%, he will port all the group to him, so be sure to be fast on your finger and get it out asap, cause besides he might instantly kill you, a boulder will be down soon. Unlock chest and loot!

Finally last name, Demitrik himself.
It's a funny fight, a bit long, but nicely created (can become annoying after a few runs tho :p). Demitrik has a companion, a flying bot which heals him. To kill Demitrik, you need to make sure this bot doesn't stant next to him healing him. For that you need to use wrenchs to make the bot fly again. Whenever the bot comes close to the original position, besides using wrenchs on bot, Demitrik will be ported to it, and every damage done will heal him, so make sure you stop your DPS when he is there (pets included). Besides that, keep doing until you bring him down. Done and loot :)

Congrats you finished the zone.
I liked the zone, has some nice name fights with some nice scripting. Overall good.

Eve Online, a small big tip

In the first few months, don't go to low level sector, even if the mission asks you to it. Decline it ;)

Everquest 2: Erudin Research Labs

From now on i will start posting some info about some of the new zones available in Sentinel's Fate that i have run. Note that what i post here is from my point of view.

Yesterday evening, me and some guildies decided to make a run to a new zone that i haven't done before, Erudin Research Labs. Our group setup was: me - level 90 Shadowknight, lvl 90 Guardian, lvl 90 Warden, lvl 89 Wizard, and a lvl 83 Illusionist. Not a very usual setup, considering it was a level 90 zone, with some tricky names npc. There are 7 names in the zone, 4 of each are a sort of beam handlers that fight exactly the same way.

* Beam Handler Pin'Tannil
* Beam Handler Polla
* Beam Handler Ran
* Beam Handler Val'Kinad

Have tank, tank it at place, and every few seconds, when an announcement comes, have every melee run away from him, cause he will blast a shockwave that will give curse that kills after a bit. Do that until 30%, at which the name will put some stoneskill, so to handle that, there is an beam which be needed to be turn on, and it will come to the middle of the room. This beam will throw some lightining, so you will just need to bring the named, over the lightning and finish it off. Just don't forget the joust that shockwave.

* V'lad Olkeen

This one is tank and spank. The only thing, is that from time to time some flying gnomes will come down, and blast when they reach near you, and will make you fly away. Just control your character, to make sure you don't fall down the cliff.

* A Fully Functional Deathgazer
Tanks spank with fears. That's about it.

* Taranis Gazerra
This one was a bit harder then the rest of the zone. We wiped a few times here, but i believe if we had a 6th member it would be alot easier. This named, when engaged, every few seconds (dunno if 3 or 5), will throw himself a buff that will reduce damage for, i think 8%. But around the room there are several pillars, that will reset this buff. So you need to throw in the most dps possible, before using the next pillar. Besides that, he also fears the tank, so make sure you are crouched, or else you will run away and might activate other pillars. I think it does throw other stuff but i wasn't aware of it. Also make sure you are away from the cliff, or you can end up falling down over it because of fear :p

Overall it's a good zone, with some challenge, but nothing that will put groups off it.

Eve Online, a month of it

Well it's been like a month (trial included) since i (re)started Eve Online. So far i've basically run the typicall missions, trying to figure what to do next, and trying to fit my 1st cruiser to spec someone told me. Also join some small corporation for the time being. Haven't done something much exciting, but from what i've done, it's been fun.
Some ppl say that the real fun is in 0.0 zones, and i believe them, but i can't at the moment risk much since, 1) i'm a newbie on it, 2) i'm low on isk and 3) also low on skills. I do like to give a try at it and i hope in the future i might, but for now i'll continue my current battle plan :)
